Card payments (Stripe)
Card payments go straight into your own Stripe account, usually in your bank within two business days. Set it up once, five steps, about ten minutes.
- Create a free Stripe account
Go to stripe.com and sign up with your business email. No monthly fee.
- Verify your business
Stripe asks for your ABN, your address and the bank account payouts should go to. Have those handy.
- Find the API keys page
In the Stripe dashboard open Developers, then API keys. You will see a Publishable key and a Secret key.
- Paste the two keys below
Press Reveal next to the secret key, copy it, and paste both keys here. They are stored encrypted.
- Press Test connection
If the account name shows in green you are done. Card payments switch on the moment you save.
How it works
This screen checks for new orders every 10 seconds. A new one chimes, buzzes your phone and shows a red count on the Orders tab. Keep this page open on the phone or tablet at the counter.
Tap Accept order so the customer sees "Being prepared". Tap Mark ready when it is packed, then Complete when it is collected or delivered. Tap the phone number to call the customer.
Paid means the customer already paid by card and the money is on its way to your Stripe account. Unpaid means they chose pay at pickup or cash on delivery, so take payment when you hand it over.
Open the Menu tab. Tap a price or a name to change it, switch an item off when you run out, add items with the plus button, then press Save menu. Changes are live on your website straight away.
The big switch at the top of Settings closes ordering right now. For regular hours use the Hours section. The menu stays visible to customers while you are closed.
Tap Print on any order. It prints a narrow receipt on a thermal printer or a normal page on an office printer.
